Constantine #11 Review –“When the Love of Your Life Will Make Your Head Spin!”

Intro

At the time, I read Justice League Dark I found Constantine to be a very interesting character. I really like his snotty charisma attitude that you can’t seem to trust and how he has a soft spot for Zantanna. So, his complexity of a character became an instant favorite of mine. So, when I heard he was getting a New 52 solo series, I was pretty excited and wondered what take will be on it. I never read his Hellblazer series which I hope to check out someday. I keep hearing great things about it so I have to read it. Anyways, since this series has been out for a while, it’s been okay. There hasn’t been that many interesting stories that gives the wow factor in my books. Don’t get me wrong, he does have interesting villains like Sargon, but I think this series can do so much more. And sadly the Forever Evil tie-ins with Constantine makes it the weakest compared to the others. So, this issue still falls in the okay scale and it might be the worst one yet for me.

Story

Constantine and the rest of new Justice League Dark gang are on their way to find Zantanna, but someone from the team turns against them and it’s someone you never expected to be.

The Good

The only good thing looking forward to this issue is the return of many fan favorite characters even
from the beginning of Justice League Dark are teased.

The Bad

This issue is really sort of bad. I’m really disappointed about a certain character I really became interested in since the Forever Evil tie-ins became a total waste. I’m also confused that the character is also chained up in the end like the rest. So, I really don’t know what’s going on. The issue does a really bad job at explaining what’s happening here. And I think you might have to read the next issue to get the clear picture. The issue goes by too quickly and maybe that’s why I am a little lost here. The art looks terrible too. It’s less detailed and mudded and looks like it was just rushed to get it published. It’s like they didn’t have enough time to work on this issue and just threw it in there. It was just really, really bad!

Verdict

I give this issue a 3/5 out of 5/10 stars. It was a really okay issue. I was just disappointed for the development of a certain character and it left me really confused in the end. I just hope what happened in this issue wasn’t totally true and I’m hoping the character stays in team in the future. I also felt that this was the worst issue of the Forever Evil: Blight tie-ins. What makes it worse is that art was really bad and sort of disgusting too, it really didn’t improve the issue at all. The only reason I can see worth buying this issue is if you want to follow through with the story and see what’s going on other than that it’s really bad. I just hope the next issue doesn’t turn out to be this boring either.
